What you will learn.
Plan and conduct assessments in a variety of occupational contexts.
Associated Assessment Criteria:
• Principles of good assessment practices are applied within the occupational learning framework.
• Evidence collection methods, tools and instruments are evaluated and adapted to meet contextual requirements.
• Principles of evidence collection are applied within contextual requirements.
• Assessment decisions are made, and feedback is formulated in accordance with accepted standards and practices.
• The domain of reflexive competence is assessed and documented.
• Documentation and records are completed and maintained in accordance with quality management system requirements.
• Past experience and prior learning are recognised, during the delivery of the learning intervention.
• Physical and psycho-social safety of the learners is assured.
• Learner progress and effectiveness of the intervention is measured continuously, and feedback is provided.
We offer QCTO-accredited assessor training by exceptional facilitators in three different kinds of workshops:
• Knowledge Modules KM 05 – Assessment Principles, and Practices Regular scheduled
2-days
• Practical Module PM06 – Plan and conduct the assessment of learner competencies
In-house 3-days
• Workplace Module WM06 – Conduct assessment of learner competence

How long does it take?
Our regular courses are a 5-day contact session which includes a Knowledge Module and Practical Module and then a Workplace Module for 21 Days. After the training, you need to complete a FISA (Final Integrated Supervised Assessments) Portfolio of Evidence.
- All Learners gain entrance to the Final Integrated Supervised Assessment by successfully completing all formal summative assessments conducted by the SDP.
- Format of FISA: A final written assessment integrating the relevant Exit Level Outcomes.
- All FISA’s must be supervised, and virtual FISA’s must be recorded throughout the assessment.
- All Exit Level Outcomes must be covered in the FISA. In the FISA, the learner must demonstrate applied knowledge and skills to prove that the competencies of the Skills Programme have been achieved.
- The FISA may not contain any assessments used in the Continuous assessment process (thus no re-assessment).
- Special considerations should be made for candidates with special learning needs.
What you can do.
- Assess facilitators of learning with subject matter expertise as evident from professional designations, experiential competence or prior qualifications.
Blended/Hybrid Learning
Learning takes place via pre-scheduled MS Teams sessions. A standardized lesson plan which is currently utilised for classroom-based learning purposes is continuously amended throughout the learning process, strongly dependent on the engagement, participation and learning experience of the learners to ensure as successful outcome of the programme. Facilitators and assessors also make use of additional one-on-one sessions via MS Teams, Whatsapp groups and email communication, especially for additional learner support and remedial evidence.
