Don’t Leave It Until The Last Minute

Always give yourself enough time to study. Leaving studying until the last minute is sure to result in cramming, which is never good. While some people love cramming, the majority of the population cannot retain information in a stressed brain. Creating a timetable and sticking to it is the best way to get all your studying in at a leisurely pace.

Keep Your Desk Clear

Keeping your study area organised will help you to get rid of distractions. Make sure that anything such as that great book you are busy reading, or your favourite PC game is not around to tempt you. Keep pens and pencils sharp and in hand. Books and paper should be organised according to the subjects you’re studying for. 

Use Diagrams And Colours

Boring plain black or blue text will run into itself after a while. Your poor tired brain will take one look at blocks of writing and want to give up. Try using as many colours and highlighters as you can to organise and group exciting bits of information. Flow charts and diagrams are also useful to put your subjects into a visual format. Try to get most of your information into one table or graph.

Use Past Exams For Practice

Practicing your subjects on past exams is a great way to find out how prepared you really are. The questions will most likely be similar to the ones that you are going to face, so if you can get an A on your practice exam, there is a good chance that you will get an A on your real exam. Providing nerves don’t get in the way – so relax.

One of the biggest killers when it comes to exams is stress. You may have studied up a storm, and go blank on exam day. Breath. Close your eyes and think of a peaceful place. You have got the information in your brain; you just need to access it.
